Let’s make sure the interests of our country come before the personal financial interests of our elected officials. Take 5 minutes out of your day to contact your senators and representative and make a difference. Find out how below!
Recently, Congresswoman Katherine Clark introduced the Presidential Accountability Act, which prohibits the President and Vice President from engaging in government business when they stand to gain a profit. The act also requires the President and Vice President to place their assets in a certified blind trust or disclose to the Office of Government Ethics and the public when they make a decision that affects their personal finances. You can read more about the act and get the text of it here – http://katherineclark.house.gov/index.cfm/2016/11/clark-introduces-bill-to-ensure-president-elect-addresses-conflicts-of-interest
If you’d like to support this bill, contact your TWO senators and ONE representative who currently hold office. You can find your officials and their contact information by using this link: http://www.whoismyrepresentative.com/
Use the phone script or form email below to contact your official. Feel free to modify the message as you see fit. As a tip a PHONE CALL IS MORE LIKELY TO GET YOUR VOICE HEARD AND COUNTED THAN AN EMAIL, but an email is better than nothing!
