Save the Endangered Species Act

Recently Senator John Cornyn from Texas introduced bill S. 376, which would amend the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The amendment does not help further protect our vanishing wildlife, but rather relaxes protections so corporations can destroy habitats to mine for resources. Make contact today to ensure the original act isn’t gutted.

PHONE CALL SCRIPT:

Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I’m calling the office of [NAME OF REPRESENTATIVE OR SENATOR] because I am a constituent. I live at [ADDRESS, CITY, and STATE] and my phone number is [PHONE NUMBER].

I’m calling to ask the [SENATOR OR REPRESENTATIVE] to vote against bill S. 376, which would amend the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The amendment does not help further protect our vanishing wildlife, but rather relaxes protections so corporations can destroy habitats to mine for resources. At a time when more and more species are disappearing at an alarming rate it makes no sense to make protections less restrictive. We need these animals to keep our ecosystems balanced and beautiful.

Please raise your voice on this issue and any others like it that arise.

You will be hearing from me on more issues in the future. Thank you for your time.
