Keep Your Favorite Agencies Funded

Let your legislators know how you want your money spent!

The House and Senate are currently negotiating the finer points of the Bill that will fund the federal government. This fine piece of legislation is titled: America First, A Blueprint to Make America Great Again (for real). Hence there is not a dearth of legislation up for consideration this week by either chamber. Therefore we would like you to call your Representative or Senator and let them know which programs and agencies you want to see adequately funded. Choose 3 and request that they receive similar funding to 2017. Or which projects or programs you want to see cut, maybe a certain construction project down south?

Programs and agencies with severe cuts being proposed:

  • Dept. of Education
  • Department of the Interior
  • Department of Energy
  • Dept. of Health and Human Services
  • Dept. of Agriculture
  • The State Department
  • Dept. of Labor
  • Dept. of Housing and Urban Development
  • Environmental Protection agency (EPA)

Agencies expecting budget increases:

  • Dept. of Defense
  • Homeland Security (Border wall funding goes to this agency)
  • Dept. of Veterans Affairs (VA)

These agencies will be defunded entirely:

  • African Development Foundation
  • Appalachian Regional Commission
  • Chemical Safety Board
  • Corporation for National and Community Service
  • Corporation for Public Broadcasting
  • Delta Regional Authority
  • Denali Commission
  • Institute of Museum and Library Services
  • Inter-American Foundation
  • U.S. Trade and Development Agency
  • Legal Services Corporation
  • National Endowment for the Arts
  • National Endowment for the Humanities
  • Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation
  • Northern Border Regional Commission
  • Overseas Private Investment Corporation
  • U.S. Institute of Peace
  • U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness
  • Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars

Bonus points: If you live in North Carolina contact Sen. Richard Burr (202) 224-3154 to ask that he open a robust investigation into the Trump campaigns connections to Russia. (He chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, and would be responsible for managing said investigation. He has not put his full efforts into this project up until now.)
