Condemn White Supremacist Violence in Charlottesville

Take 5 minutes and make a difference.

Our country is often divided, but surely most of us can agree that acts of violence, hatred, and terrorism have no place in the United States. Surely we can agree that white supremacists should be called out directly when a woman is murdered and others are injured.

It seems some of our elected officials, like President Trump, need a reminder of what most of the country believes. Let’s call out those who haven’t spoken up to denounce hate directly and thank those who have.

Use the phone script or form email below to contact your officials. Feel free to modify the message as you see fit. As a tip a PHONE CALL IS MORE LIKELY TO GET YOUR VOICE HEARD AND COUNTED THAN AN EMAIL, but an email is better than nothing!

PHONE CALL SCRIPT:

Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I’m calling the office of [NAME OF SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE] because I am a constituent. I live at [ADDRESS, CITY, and STATE] and my phone number is [PHONE NUMBER].

IF THIS REPRESENTATIVE HAS NOT SPOKEN OUT, READ:

I’m calling to ask [NAME OF SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE] to publicly denounce the white supremacists that contributed to the recent acts of hatred, violence, and terrorism in Charlottesville. This kind of hate has no place in the United States. Please also call on President Trump to directly and specifically address these issues with white supremacists. If your office cannot publicly represent my views, I will vote for someone who does.

IF THIS REPRESENTATIVE HAS NOT SPOKEN OUT, READ:
